A Metropolitan Region in the Heart of Germany and Europe

The metropolitan region is a multifaceted economic and living space in the heart of Germany. Embedded into a delightful natural landscape between low mountain ranges (such as the nearby Taunus) or the defining landscapes of the Vogelsbergs, the Spessart, the Odenwald, the Hunsrück and the Rhöns, along with important wine-growing regions (such as Franconia, Rheinhessen and the Rheingau), the region offers many excursion destinations for the weekend. Cities such as Heidelberg, Bad Homburg and Darmstadt are nearby, and both state capitals of Wiesbaden and Mainz can be reached in a half hour by automobile.
