EU CEIBS and Frankfurt School China Conference

The Future of Banking and Finance in China

Around 200 guests participated on September 23rd at the EU CEIBS-FS China Conference at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management to discuss the future development of China’s banking and finance industry.

The conference was part of the Research Fellowship Program of the EU-China Business Management Training (BMT) Project which is, on behalf of the European Union, jointlyrun by the Frankfurt School and CEIBS. Professor Dr. Horst Löchel, Director of the German Centre of Banking & Finance at CEIBS and Professor of Economiocs at CEIBS and FS, and Professor Chun Chang, Ph.D., Professor of Finance at CEIBS, ABN AMRO Chair of Risk Management and Deputy Director of CEIBS Lujiazui International Finance Research Centre, co-chaired the conference.

Within the framework of the new global financial structure due to the shift from West to East, Dr. Lutz Raettig, Spokesman for the Executive Committee of Frankfurt Main Finance, and Dr. Hartmut Schwesinger, CEO of FrankfurtRhineMain GmbH discussed with the Chinese speaker Dr. Jianfeng Yin about the new positioning of old financial centers like Frankfurt and emerging financial centers like Shanghai and Beijing. Speakers and participants reached a general consensus to enhance the China-EU cooperation in financial services for multilateral benefits in the new global financial world after the crisis.

The conference  was co-hosted by FrankfurtRhineMain GmbH International Marketing of the Region and supported by Frankfurt Main Finance e. V., The Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM), Deutsche Börse Group,  Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and the EU-China Business Management Training Project (BMT).
